We live in a day and time when hope seems to be more of something that is fleeting than of something that is sure. Our daily news broadcasts often paint a dismal picture of the world’s condition. Thus, many people live in a world of despair believing that there is no hope, that all hope is lost. For them, two words describe their outlook on life – “doom” and “gloom.” However, the good news is that there is hope – Eternal Hope.

Spark Singers - When Hope Came DownThe dynamic new Christian group Spark Singers is back with an inspiring and uplifting song called “When Hope Came Down.” Through song, their personal testimonies of the Savior shine through as they join their voices together to let everyone know that Christ is the Hope of the world.

Throughout His humble earthly life, He was despised and rejected by people from all walks of life, and He continues to be rejected by individuals today. The world says that there are too many other things to be concerned with and so it tries to eliminate Christ from every aspect of daily life. Some even go so far as to say that there is no room for Christ in this modern, technological, self-sufficient, fast-paced world in which we live. Thus, they feel that there is no longer any need for Him. Is it any small wonder, that in times of distress, these people feel as though they have no one to turn to, for the very One they should be turning to, they have dismissed from their lives?

Many do not realize nor understand that Christ is the Savior of the world. John in his gospel reminds us of this, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16, 17). As the Son of God, He was the only sinless man who ever lived. He was the only sacrifice that could take away sins. He is the Christ – the Messiah – the Redeemer – the Hope of Israel – the Hope of the World.

The Spark Singers also remind us that His name is Emmanuel – God is with us – and because He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us there will always be hope. The tiny child that lay in Bethlehem manager, of whom choirs of angels sang praises, was not an ordinary baby. On that blessed, holy night when our Savior was born hope came into the world.
