depressed teenHas there ever been a time in your life when you have felt helpless, all alone, and worthless? Why is that? Have there been times in your life when you have been maltreated and made to feel as though you have no real value? How do you deal with those times? And should we value some people more, or less than others? These are all valid questions – questions that at some point on our journey through life we find ourselves seeking for answers, comfort, and understanding. The good news is that none of us are worthless or of any less value than another person.  We are all precious souls of worth.

Paul Cardall, the successful owner of an independent record label called Stone Angel Music, is also the executive producer overseeing a project called “Worth of Souls.” For the project, he has been blessed to have the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s finest recording artists like Charley Jenkins, Justin Williams, Sierra Lauren, Jordan Moyes, Ashley Hess, Trevor Price, Jim Daneker, Ellee Duke, Emily Bea, and Kenz Hall. According to the Worth of Souls website, “Worth of Souls is a team of award winning recording artists who’ve produced an altruistic album of original and award winning contemporary Christian songs that promote the Savior’s unconditional love and mercy.”

Paul Cardall - Worth of SoulsThe 13 songs on the album, a serene mixture of vocals and instrumentals, such as “Come as You Are,” “Lift Me Out,” “That Mountain,” and “Redeemed” can be used as a powerful tool to combat negative thoughts and feelings and restore hope and confidence. Thus, this album has a message that can be shared with everyone – the prodigal, the pilgrim, the doubter, and even the saint. “Worth of Souls plants seeds of faith and restores confidence in ourselves and our ability to let go and let the Savior manage our lives.”

God has said, “I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir” (Isaiah 13:12). Ophir was a place famous for its gold. When we focus our attention on the atonement of Jesus Christ and the sacrifice that He made and the price that He paid to ransom us from our sins, is that not more precious than gold? Let us consider His infinite love for each of us. He, the great and powerful Creator, became a man and walked among us, and then He was mocked, rejected, and crucified at the hands of those He had created. Isaiah the prophet reminds us, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

So, does it not follow that you and I are of far greater value than anything in this world? Yes, we are all precious souls of worth.

The album Souls of Worth is available for pre-order on iTunes beginning Friday, 9 March 2018, and once released will be available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, and at Deseret bookstores.
