Allie Gardner - I Am a Child of God - MayanOn 29 July 2017, Allie released an inspirational music video of the hymn “I Am a Child of God” in English, Spanish, and Maya. She learned to speak the Mayan language while serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Yucatan and Quintana Roo, Mexico. With the release of the video, Allie makes history in the sense that her music video is the first to share the message of the Restored Gospel in the Mayan language. In the description of the video, she says, “I pray that one day every child of God will be taught the gospel in their native tongue. Hopefully, this video can help to fulfill that.”

LDS Living reports, “With more than 121,000 views, this video has already reached many with a powerful message that we are all God’s children and we can feel His love no matter what.” Allie also states, “I grew to love those sweet people [of Mexico] so much. I hope this video reflects just a fraction of my feelings.”
