Junior Maile

Junior MaileMusic has always been a fundamental part of Junior Maile’s life. His background, replete with immense musical talent, both professionally and recreationally, from brothers, cousins, and uncles involved in music, has provided him with several sources of inspiration to draw from.

Junior’s maternal ancestral roots stem from American Samoa, while his patriarchal ancestral roots originate from the friendly islands of Tonga. Both islands are well-known for the power and beauty of their angelic voices. His Polynesian heritage has a great influence on his unique vocal style which is enhanced by a soulful R&B feel from his upbringing ‘down south.’

He started singing at church at the age of five while living in St. Petersburg, Florida. He spent the first 13 years of his life singing at various family, school, and church functions. In 1995, Junior moved to Utah where he started perfecting his musical gift. Finding himself alone in a brand-new environment, with his siblings away at college, he turned to music as an outlet. It was during those times that the riffs were perfected, the notes were fine-tuned, and the singer/songwriter was born. He became able to take any experience in life, sit down, and write a song about it. Along with his new found musical talents, he learned to deliver his lyrics with a smooth style. During that period, he wrote several original, unreleased songs.

Before Junior was 17-years-old, he already had two timeless hits to his credit – “On This Day” and “The Voice.” By the time he was 19, he had released a top-selling CD in Hawaii and his music career continued to advance. He recorded with artists such as Fiji, Kapena, and bass guitarist, Freddie Washington, and he performed with several popular artists.

Junior Maile is 35 years old (15 October 1981). He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is married and currently lives in Provo, Utah. He is a member of the Class of 2012 of Utah Valley University located in Orem, Utah.
