Alex Boye

Alex BoyeAlex Boye, beloved Mormon music artist, has soul.  His music comes from deep within, a testimony of the Lord he loves and of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Whether performing “My Faith Endures”, “I Need to Know”, or “Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me”, or laughing with a group of youth, Alex has the gift of reaching the seemingly unreachable.

Not always a Mormon, Alex Boye was born and raised in London, England, and went from hip-hop to mainstream Christian rock.  He tasted fame, yet the lifestyle he experienced while in “Awesome”, a popular boy band, didn’t feel right to him.  Alex took a huge risk, breaking his contract, and moved to Salt Lake City.  For more on this compelling story, watch this video clip.

Although his road was stacked with challenges, Alex has moved forward with faith.  He hopes to reach out to Christian audiences around the world through his music.  He travels to various locations to speak and perform to youth groups, encouraging them to be strong.

John, a young man who attended one of Alex’s firesides, comments, “Last night, Spennie and I went to an amazing fireside by Alex Boye.  he did an amazing and most compelling job of opening to panoramic view the literal hazards we face in the fight that the devil is waging against us with music, media etc. It was so clear.  He made it so very relevant.  Gibson, Spennie’s friend, drove home with us  and said something about how he wouldn’t be surprised if every young person there went straight home and deleted every bad song from their files.  They just were blown away.  Twelve-year-old boys saying it was the best fireside ever, and how they felt the spirit so strong.  It truly became so powerful that it was not possible to disbelieve his words.  Every last person of any age was touched, including some that seemed quite untouchable in the past…I believe that Alex is one of Heavenly Father’s ‘Big Guns’.  His story is so amazing how he literally put the Gospel before fame and fortune, and the ‘life of a rockstar’.  I believe the Lord has already restored it to him again (and will continue to do so) with unbelievable spiritual gifts, knowledge, and the unusual ability to uplift, edify, inspire and convince men to make a difference in their lives.  I am sure that Alex’s heart was full to overflowing with gratitude after last night’s fireside.  I pray that many more will have the opportunity to experience what we experienced last night.  I wish every young person in the church could hear this presentation.” – John S.

In February of 2009, during a celebration of Black History Month, Alex rendered four beautiful solos during the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s “Music and the Spoken Word” broadcast, under the direction of Mack Wilberg and President Mac Christensen.

Alex is married to Julie, whose faith in Jesus Christ is strong, and who also works hard as her husband’s manager.
