Mormon Channel Studio just featured Yahosh Bonner singing an original song written by his brother, Junior Bonner, called “Angels Over Me.” He also sang his version of the hymn, “Savior, Redeemer of My Soul.”
Yahosh says of the song “Angels Over Me,” “I think that in life, we’re always focused on a lot of the things that work against us and how there are a lot of things that bring us down when in reality we should know that Heaven’s on our side. We have a Father in Heaven that wants us to succeed, and He sends His angels to lift us up and to bring us through tough times.”
When asked about the song, “Savior, Redeemer of My Soul,” Yahosh explains, “It’s a hymn that I really love and connect to. … Christ is the foundation of my family, and I chose this song because … there’s no way for us to get to that goal [of] living with God if we don’t know His Son, Jesus Christ. And so this just kind of talks about who He is, who He is to me, and what [I can] do to repay him for his sacrifice.”
Yahosh has also made music videos for both “Angels Over Me” and “Savior, Redeemer of My Soul” as well as many other original songs and covers that you can view on his Youtube channel. His most recent music video is a gorgeous cover of “Remember Home” by Sebastian Kole.
Yahosh grew up singing with his family, who have worked with the Mormon Channel before. His family enjoys playing musical games and having competitions. He said that music “has always been a part of who we are, specifically music dealing with praise and God and Christ. That’s been really a foundation of who we are and has helped define who we are now and who we’re becoming.”
