April Moriarty was born in California, into a musical family. Her mother recognized a unique gift in April at age 4, when she could play the piano by ear. Right away, she began piano lessons. Then, at age 10, she started violin lessons, and was able to accompany many vocalists and choirs by ear. April had the gift of writing arrangements, which she continues to do today, along with her musical partner and professional pianist, Todd McCabe.
She began to teach lessons when only a teenager, and played professionally in-studio. April studied and toured Europe, performing around the continent. She had the awesome experience of playing under the direction of Leonard Bernstein at the Hollywood Bowl, which is still one of her favorite memories with music.
With all of her awards and accollades, April does not promote herself as the incredible violinist and musician that she truly is. She is full of humility, sincerity, and an honest passion for testifying of her Savior through music.
April lives in Alpine, Utah with her family.
