André West The name André West may not be familiar to some people, but it is bound to be known to a lot more people before long. André is a promising recording artist originally from Provo, Utah. He is an electro-dance, French rapper who has performed with sold-out shows in venues such as Covey Center for the Arts, SCERA Theater, Rock Canyon Studios, and several Utah fairs and festivals. André is also a former member of the LDS Genesis Gospel Choir, now known as the Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir. For one year he was a member of the Utah boy band Mile High Drive under the direction of the renowned vocal coach, Debra Bonner. The band released an original EP titled “Neverland” in January 2016 before coming to a hiatus. The EP is available for download from iTunes.

Over the years, André has trained not only with Debra Bonner, but he has also studied with Seth Riggs, Efrem Channel, Mauli Bonner, Melinda Hix, Rashida Jordan, and Jonathan George. While growing up, he enjoyed singing to greats like Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Tina Turner and Frank Sinatra. While in high school, André wrote and recorded his first original songs and acted in several plays. After spending a great deal of his time as a teen in Paris, France, he became indulged with the French culture which was the inspiration for his French rap, dance-pop original music, and theatrical performances.

At the age of 18, after being signed with Dream Talent Management, André moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue his music and acting careers. All the while, he continues to train with the Hollywood Launch Academy of Los Angeles and work on his original music in hopes of releasing his first EP soon.  He appears in projects from New York Film Academy, Loyola Marymount University, and in several movies.

This week’s Video Find of the Week post feature’s André’s cover of Britney Spear’s song “Make Me.” Britney recorded the song for her upcoming ninth studio album. The track, written by Britney, Matthew Burns, Joe Janiak and Gerard Gillum, was produced by Matthew Burns and was released on 15 July 2016. In the description of the video, André says that he has been a fan of Britney Spears for as long as he can remember. He recalls that Britney’s album “Baby One More Time” was the first CD he ever bought. He also states that making this video was a lot of fun.
